Functional Music + Meditation = Medicine

Meditation is medication. When used functionally and strategicaly it is one of the most incredible and powerful tools for self-actualisation available. Because it bridges the gap between knowing something intellectually and embracing it as something that becomes yours and actionable. If you find you currently dislike meditation because you’ve only ever experienced panpipes, deep creepy Paul Mckenna style voices or pants production you’ve come to the right place.

I specialise in smart, fast meditations for people who don’t like meditating.

Everything I’ve created over the years is for those who struggle with finding meditations they can really get into. My meditations are multi levelled brain entrainment using sound anchors, powerful music and accessible actionable messages for the areas of life I mostly see my private clients for and in listening to them you can begin shaping your new reality and chosen belief systems.

I’ve taken 10 years of private client work and formed impactful meditations I know really change lives.

My award-winning techniques are designed to excite the mind into action through challenging the emotions and information your subconscious currently has available to it and widening what it believes is possible using powerful, playful, pop created alongside me and my professional production team.

There are different ways to listen to my meditations, it is your choice how you move through them:

Visualising Meditation

Having your eyes closed will help you visualise better and stimulate inspiration and answers. If visuals come easily, then go with it. If not you may prefer to concentrate on sounds, feelings, colours, landscapes, or simply a knowing. As you listen, focus on a message, such as a symbol, metaphor, image or a sentence in line with your intention. Make it as big and bright as you can, something you can action and use to redefine your reality, to help you distinguish what matters and operate from your truth as you go about your day and move through the world.

Breathing Meditation

Begin to take deep breaths down into your diaphragm, making sure the in-breath is significantly shorter than your out-breath, to slow down the heart rate and relax the muscles further. Find a rhythm you feel comfortable with and continue. Relax your shoulders and the muscles around your eyes and face.

Resting Meditation

Sit or lie with your feet and hands apart in a comfortable position. The palms of your hands open, facing upwards. For greater benefits it’s best that you don’t fall asleep completely, if this happens, try sitting up or listening earlier in the day. You may think you have drifted off but if you come back around at the end, then you are responding to the suggestions and absorbing messages.

Recharging Meditation

After a few listens through you can choose to listen with your eyes open. Allowing your visual awareness to soften and expand, exploring your peripheral vision. There might be times where you want to connect to feminine energy and get up dance or move, primally and energetically to the parts you feel deeply. You can hold your hands up to the skies flat to collect energy in the palms of your hands.

BINAURAL BEATS FREQUENCIES

I used Binaural Beats in all my personalised meditations. The most healthy, powerful minds have access to all of these frequencies and move between the optimal depending on the situation. I use binaural beats in all of my meditations to enhance their magic.

Delta 1–4Hz Your brain is in this state when it’s in the deepest and most restorative phase of sleep. Advanced healing of body and mind occurs during this period and it’s where the unconscious mind and intuition are born from. Extreme bliss and states of empathy are experienced when the mind is awake and aware that it’s in this state.

Theta 4–8Hz As you are falling into sleep your brain accesses this frequency and moves in and out of it throughout the night. Vivid visualizations are often experienced. Theta is the state that is often stimulated by meditation and is naturally accessed more frequently by creative people. REM sleep (the part where you dream) happens here.

Alpha 8-12Hz Is the stage where you can program your mind happening just before you wake up or fall asleep. After much experimentation, this became my preferred setting. The sense of letting go and lucidity was combined with heightened sense of awareness throughout my body and I reliably left the sessions feeling relaxed and focussed.

Beta 12 – 30Hz A healthy balance between the brainwave states is key. In the West, a large proportion of society is overworked. This results in the brain being in a Beta brainwave state too much. This leads to an unhealthy amount of cortisol (the stress hormone) being released into the body, an inability to turn off the mind, sleeping disorders and eventually more serious conditions.

BENEFITS OF MY MEDITATIONS

To understand the benefits of this work you have to understand the detrimental impact of stress. Stress stimulates the sympathetic nervous system, causing a surge of natural stress hormones (think: epinephrine and cortisol) in the bloodstream, which can negatively affect the body. For example, too much epinephrine (a.k.a. adrenaline) can increase the risk of heart attacks and strokes; too much cortisol can increase blood sugar levels, suppress the immune system, and constrict blood vessels. Eventually, chronic spikes in stress hormones can lead to an increase in blood pressure, heart rate, and cholesterol levels, disrupting immunity, energy levels, and sleep. When the body and mind are relaxed, however — whether through meditation practice or other techniques — the parasympathetic nervous system is stimulated, causing the body to stop releasing stress hormones.

Research from the University of California, says those who used generalized meditations programs have lower levels of cortisol. A 2018 study found that medical students who meditated for just 10 days had a 12% decrease in stress.

Why is stress reduction so important? It lowers blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen consumption, which results in higher energy levels and better immunity and sleep. Plus, stress reduction is key for diminishing the physical symptoms of many health conditions. Take inflammation, for example, which is linked to stroke, heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and other serious diseases. According to a Harvard study, meditation not only can dampen the genes involved in the inflammatory response, but also promotes the genes associated with DNA stability. Better sleep, emotional intelligence, Studies show meditation has proved to help from everything from stress, focus, mood, anger, burnout, anxiety, depression, sleep, weight management, relationships, pain

Through meditation, we can build up areas of our brain and actually rewire it to enhance positive traits like focus and decision making and diminish the less positive ones like fear and stress. Most importantly, this means there is a possibility to change your brain for the better in a way that is long-lasting. The benefits of meditation are numerous and varied, and supported by science. Many people start meditating to manage stress, reduce anxiety, and to cultivate peace of mind. But there are thousands of studies documenting other less-known mindfulness meditation benefits, which can have a positive impact on mental, physical, and emotional health.

Most people are likely familiar with the positive side effects of meditation associated with mental health: increased awareness, clarity, compassion, and a sense of calm. Improved focus is another benefit commonly associated with meditation. In fact, one study showed that 4 weeks of using the Headspace app can increase focus by 14%, while another showed that just a single session cuts mind-wandering by 22%.
