6 Mid-Year Mental Health Resolutions to Set Today

New Year Resolutions get all the spotlight, but have you heard of Mid Year Resolutions? Mid-Year Resolutions are perfect for assessing our progress and goals. This is a perfect time to assess what we have accomplished since the beginning of the year and how far we are from achieving our aspirations.

Most of us focus on career, financial, and body resolutions which can be really positive, but they can also add a lot of pressure and stress. So, what about mental health resolutions? If you haven't thought about mental health resolutions yet, now is the time to add them to your list. With self-care, you'll have way more chances of reaching your goals by the end of the year. In collaboration with Metro, I created a list of 13 mental health resolutions you should set for yourself this year. Here are some of the most important mental health mid-year resolutions you should keep:

  1. Practice patience

Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither your perfect life will be. If things don't go quickly as you expected, don't be too hard on yourself. Patience will help you being consistent.

  2. Learn lessons

When life gets tough, instead of asking, “why is this happening to me?” Say to yourself, “what is this teaching me?”

  3. Find joy in the little things

It's easy to compare ourselves with other people's achievements, especially when scrolling down on social media. Remember to not compare yourself to others and to be grateful for the good things in your life, even if they seem 'little'.

  4. Set a theme

What if, instead of resolutions, you set a theme for the rest of the year? "Jessica says: ‘Every year, I give myself a theme that fits in with my goals. ‘Last year my theme word was magic, so my activities, learnings and lessons were filtered through that word, and I had a truly magical year. This year my theme is abundance.’"

  5. Have self-care days

Grab your calendar and schedule a self-care day, even if it's just once a month. On that day, plan all the activities you'd like to do for yourself. From indulging on your favourite dessert to getting a spa day, everything is valid.

  6. Understand yourself

Our brain is constantly trying to save us energy by creating patterns of thought and turning them into a habit. When you feel an uncomfortable feeling, have you ever stopped and asked yourself what you were thinking before that and what triggered that thought?

In my signature 90-day programme, HOMECOMING, we look at absolutely everything in your life contributing to your current lack of confidence and how it might have become a hindrance to the successful life you dream about. In fact, we look at absolutely every area of your life to map out what action needs to take place. We make a subconscious life plan, and using my approach, we work through all that’s getting in your way both internally and externally so that you can finally start living the confident, fun, free and fulfilled life of your dreams.

Homecoming is the real deal, read the testimonials to see for yourself and if you’re ready to get started, take the quiz to begin the process to find out how radically different your life could be in 3 months’ time. Your Homecoming is waiting.
