5 Ways to Add More Positivity into Your Daily Routine

Jessica Boston, multi-award-winning therapist and hypnotherapist, spoke to MSN on how to bring your positive perspective back.

"The best way to bring more positivity into your daily routine is to set up happiness habits. The route to positivity is not through one singular event but through setting up processes that have a compounding effect," she explains. Jessica has outlined five "excellent happy habits" to get you started:

Move

Make sure you move your body every day. Whether it’s putting on some music and dancing around your living room or going for a walk, do something to get your heartbeat up and your muscles working, establishing that connection with your body. Stretching yourself out is great for that too.

Focus

A wonderful positive exercise you can incorporate into your life is to make a note of three gifts you noticed in your day that made your life better and why, whether it’s a bird in a tree, the smile of a friend, or your dog, it’s training your brain to look out for things to make note of later and draw your awareness to more joy.

Meditate

Meditation is all the rage at the moment but there are reasons why it is so popular; listening to meditation relaxes the nervous system and realigns your focus back to a happier you, with a mind thinking of more peaceful concepts and a connection to your strengths and resources.

Sleep

Make sure you prioritise having the best night's sleep possible. Excellent mental health and positivity starts with feeling rested.

Balance

Everything in moderation and creating happiness habits is not about being restrictive or a perfectionist. It's about doing anything more than nothing that sets you up on a road to greater joy. You don’t have to be militant about getting it right, just gently curious about the habits that make the difference.
